Read Hebrews 5-6

 

Heb 6:1 Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God.

 

ARE you stuck in your walk with Jesus?
   The writer of Hebrews spends some time in these two chapters talking about moving forward with your faith. It seems his audience was people who had begun learning about Jesus, expressed faith in Jesus, repented from their sins, yet continued to repeat those sins.
   There’s a note of frustration and, at the same time, encouragement in the writer’s words as he admonishes people to let go of their sins and grow up in their faith. In essence, he’s saying, “Change your life. You say you believe in Jesus. Act like it.”

   And the action is to include gaining a greater understanding of Jesus. “It is time,” he is saying, “to know more than Jesus saves. It is time to understand your saved life means changing how you live.”

   Jesus has called each of us to repent—to admit we’re wrong—and then to live a new life under his care. How does your life reflect his teachings? In what areas of your life can you mature more and walk more closely with Jesus?

   Stuck in a rut—always coming up short in some areas of your walk with Jesus? Then with faith step out of the rut. Change your thoughts, your habits and walk more closely with Jesus.
